The alarm went off at 6.30am, Jennifer was still a little hung over from the weekend and ached from the Sunday gym session. She showered and made her way to Muswell Hill Broadway to catch the 43 down to Highgate station and as usual the bus took ages to turn up. It was 8am already by the time the bus arrived at Highgate. Down on the platform it was a 13-minute wait for the next Northern Line tube. It was going to be at least an hour before she arrived for work at Canary Wharf, she just knew it was going to be the same on the return trip home. On top of all this it had been 6 months since Toby proposed and she had said yes. They hadn’t even managed to set a date or book a venue.
Does this sound familiar to your life in the capital so busy that you never seem to get 5 minutes to sit down with your partner to discuss the big day. Never mind look around venues, talk to the hairdresser, or even look at dresses with your chief bridesmaid. This is why you need a London wedding planner such as Amanda from Ardley weddings.
Why choose a London based planner? Well if you live in London and will marry in London you will need somebody who knows the city like the back of her hand. You can arrange to meet you locally, they’ll know the best venues, florists, photographers and dressmakers. A wedding planner like Amanda will be able to save you time and money, along with being able to co-ordinate events on the big day.
Through Amanda’s connections in the Capital and great negotiating skills she will get you the best deals keeping you well within budget. These savings alone will more than pay for her planning service.
The whole process of planning a wedding in London or any other location is a complex and time-consuming task. Often taking up huge chunks of your annual leave at work or your social life. But a wedding planner can do all the trawling and initial meetings for you. Leaving you to enjoy your spare time.
There are so many things to arrange it can be hard to know where to start I mean do you start with the Church or venue? Why not let a planner like Amanda help take the stress from you, letting you enjoy the whole process.
The use of an experienced professional like Amanda from Ardley Weddings will help ensure you use the most reliable suppliers at the best price. Helping you enjoy your big day and the run up to it, to the maximum. Amanda will make sure your once in a life time experience goes without a glitch.

Costa Brava Hen Weekends: Getting there just got Easier
If you’re based in the south of England and fancy booking a hen weekend in the sun that’s not that far away, and that you can get to stress free, I’ve got some great news for you, because getting to the Costa Brava just got easier.
From 21 October 2011, Monarch Airlines will be flying from Gatwick to Barcelona twice a day (http://www.monarch.co.uk/offers/flights/new-flights-from-gatwick-to-barcelona). So if like me, you are into a few frills when flying, like extra legroom, pre-booked seats and meals which await you, as well as chilled champagne, you’re in luck, because the nice people at Monarch offer all of this, plus an extra baggage allowance if you need it so you don’t have to worry about paying excess at the counter for all those last minute shoes you squeezed in. Ooh, little tip. They do superb Suchard hot chocolate. And it’s even more lush with a dash-ito of brandy J
And if jumping straight from the Fenchurch Street to Shoeburyness line and onto an aeroplane bound for Barcelona is what you’re after, then hey presto, Bob’s your uncle, and Andrea’s your aunty. Because Southend Airport has opened up to bigger and better things by allowing EasyJet to set up a base there. (http://www.easyjet.com/en/cheap-flights/London-Southend/Barcelona).
So now there is no excuse for not getting the girls over here for a Costa Brava hen weekend!
Are we nearly there yet?
Yes. Because when you land, Aunty is there, ready and waiting to pick you all up, pack you into her air conditioned hen-mobile and deliver you to your hotel. So there’s no clambering onto a bus, no waiting for a train and definitely no extortionate cab fares. And she delivers you back in time for your flight home too, so that’s another less thing to worry about.
The Joys that Await You
It’s up to you what happens next. There are endless hen activities on offer! Just take your pick, and be sure to stock up on all your accessories from Funky Hen before you leave!
Aunty Andrea organises hen and stag weekends in Tossa de Mar, Lloret de Mar, Barcelona and Playa D’Aro on Spain’s gorgeous Costa Brava. Sun, sea, sangria and everything your hen party desires is yours: Aunty can make it as innocent – or as exotic – as you like! http://www.auntyandreastags.com/

A Belly Dance On Your Hen Night?
Ever thought of having a Belly Dancing hen night then why not check out our first ever guest blog.
Isis Dance offers fun taster sessions for hen parties at your own choice venue. I will do demo dances and then the afterwards the ladies can learn to dance and do a nice routine. I never ‘make’ people dance as I think this is unprofessional but you will find even your shyest lady guest joins in once she sees what fun everyone else is having. This enjoyable session will get your Hen evening off to a wonderful start. Think of all the lovely and unique photos you will have of your special party. If you need an official photographer I can arrange to recommend a local talented wedding and special events photographer. I just ask for a deposit to secure the date. Ladies and girls can borrow lovely jingly hip scarves for major shimmying. The Hen can borrow my lovely silver Isis wings for some fantastic memorable photos.
The wonderful thing about belly dance is that it tones up all the muscles of the body not just the tummy. A few examples - snake arms are perfect for getting rid of bingo wings, chest lifts are great for toning up the abs, and hip drops are brilliant for toning legs bums and tums. Any age or size or shape of lady can learn this lovely form of dancing. It really does release that inner-goddess within us all.
Brides to be can come to my weekly classes and have a great workout to fantastic music. It is a low-impact exercise but it really does work wonders for the figure. It is much more fun than being on a boring treadmill or swimming lengths in a morning. Some ladies dress up and others come in work-out type clothes – it is up to you. No need to have a bare tummy if you do not want to. Classes are small and friendly and it is consists of a mixed age group. Beginners can join at any time of year. I recognise that people have work, study, family commitments etc so I do not make people sign up for a course and pay for a block of lessons. Classes are payable weekly. There is the option to take exams but if ladies are coming for fitness and fun then they do not have to do exams.
Normally the bride and groom do a first dance and then a few people join in with a waltz type dance. But then everyone disappears off the dance floor until a bit later. My latest venture is to offer the fun taster session at wedding receptions because belly dance can be done by anyone from the age of 3 years upwards. And men can belly dance too. The style of belly dancing would be suitable for all the family and even Nanna or your Great Aunty will not be shocked – in fact they will probably be first up on the dance floor!
